Designated by the Association for Investment Management and Research (based in Charlottesville, VA) to those who pass a rigorous three-level exam (levels of exams must be taken one year apart), each administered by the association and covering investment principles, asset valuation and portfolio management. Candidates must also have three years of investment-management experience.
